Levelling up in biz + life and encouraging your delusion

Hey friend,

For the first time in a long time, I’m writing you from hooooome (Toronto 🇨🇦). I’m back in Canada after a whirlwind of the past 2ish years abroad, and I’m excited to update you on all things life, travel, and finance. Let’s go!

🇨🇦 Home Sweet Home

After about 1.5 years of living in Spain and 3 months of hopping around Asia, I’m finally home in Toronto! While I do love travelling and being immersed in new cultures, I’d be lying if I said doing it non-stop isn’t exhausting. From learning new cultural norms, to understanding new currencies so I don’t unintentionally overspend, to handling hotel and flight bookings, it definitely takes a toll on the body.

I’m really happy to be home for a bit to rest and sit in stillness for a while. The plan is to stay in Toronto until at least October, so we’ll see how it goes! I will definitely miss my affordable food and daily coconuts though (lol).

Recapping The Asia Journey

🇹🇭 Chiang Mai: We spent an entire month here and it was a vibe, as always. This actually marks my 7th time in Thailand, and my boyfriend and I are already figuring out when we can make it back there. Chiang Mai is my favourite city in the world (even more then Malaga, tbh). While it does have a slow and relaxed pace, the high amount of entrepreneurs based there inspires you to go harder with your goals and see your dreams through. The food is also unmatched, the cost of living is more than reasonable in relation to my Canadian dollar, and Thai people are some of the kindest I’ve ever met. This was an excellent month and I’m forever grateful for this special city.

🇹🇼 Taipei: WHY DIDN’T ANYONE TELL ME TAIPEI IS THAT GIRL? If I’m being honest, there wasn’t a lot of intention behind the plan to visit Taipei. We just added it to our itinerary because we haven’t heard much about it, but we found a flight leaving from there that’d get us to Toronto. We had SUCH a good time. The food is excellent, the people were so warm and welcoming, there are gorgeous green spaces, and it’s extremely walkable and bike-friendly. We were so pleasantly surprised with this city and would jump at the opportunity to visit again!

I got to try Bubble Tea in its birthplace in Taiwan! 🧋

🇭🇰 Hong Kong: Uhhhhh. Lol. To be fair, we only had about 16 hours in Hong Kong so it was rushed and chaotic (and we were exhausted). We didn’t love our experience here. We found the food wasn’t as tasty as we were used to over the past few months, the people were more curt, the pace was more quick, the prices are quite high, and the overall vibe felt more impersonal and sterile. It wasn’t a bad experience by any means, but it definitely wasn’t our favourite. I’d give it another shot if we were able to spend a few days there…but I’m not in a rush to, tbh 😅.

Enjoying stunning views from The Peak in Hong Kong

Updates on The Entrepreneurship Journey

One of the biggest reasons I’m happy to be home now is to double down on the development of my business. Here’s the progress I’m making:

  • I finally hired my dream web designer to re-build my website and I’m SO excited for the launch. I considered the DIY approach to save some money but honestly? Now is not the time to nickle and dime my way through my business. It takes money to make money, and it made more sense pay someone for their area of expertise so I have more time to focus on mine.

  • Now I have more time to build out the course content and community for my upcoming Liberty Leave program that teaches women how to take career breaks without sacrificing their finances. Join the waitlist here.

  • I’ve been applying to business grants gaaaalore. I need more money to be able to build my business to the heights I dream of, and the self-funded approach isn’t ideal. Fingers crossed that I win one/some this year! Running a business ain’t cheap lol.

  • I’m in my delusional era. I’m typically a very “realistic” and logical person in all aspects of my life, but I don’t think that mindset is suitable for running a profitable business. My goal for the next few months is to be more delusional, think bigger, ask for more, and go wayyyyy harder with discipline.

This is your sign to be more delusional with your goals. Audacity looks good on you.

  • Airlines are launching standing-only seats in 2026. Imagine standing through turbulence?? Wild. Check out the abomination here. Personally, I’d rather stay home.

  • I’m often asked where folks can find jobs that are truly full remote so they can work from anywhere in the world and dabble in the digital nomad lifestyle. I found a new one I really like here!

  • A new list of the most visited countries just dropped and I’m personally shocked by the top 10 (but maybe I shouldn’t be considering I’ve been to all of them). Review the list here.

  • Airlines are preparing for chaos this summer because of air traffic control problems in the U.S.. Read about the details and implications here.

  • Airbnb just launched a massive release to their platform, which now includes services like personal chefs, personal trainers, and even spa treatments. Check it out here.

  • ❤️‍🩹 I’m helping burnt-out women learn how to take career breaks (without going broke)! My course & community is dropping soooooon, and waitlist members get $100+ off plus exclusives freebies. • 🤑 Looking for a side hustle to earn some extra cash/a new income stream? HubSpot dropped this free database with 100 unique side hustle ideas. Check it out here.

  • 👩🏽‍💻 Calling all biz owners (side-hustlers included!) who HATE paying monthly subscription fees: Have you heard of AppSumo? I’m currently obsessed. You can buy lifetime subscriptions to tools you need to run your business (as in, you pay once and that’s it!). Check them out here.

    • One of my faves is TidyCal for $29 to replace Calendly. They also have a super sale coming up next week, and you can get 10% off your first purchase with my affiliate link here!
