Enrollment is open for The Liberty Launchpad & Lounge! šŸŽ‰

The doors for my new signature program, The Liberty Launchpad & Lounge, are officially open! I’ve been working on this for almost a year now, and I’m so excited to share it with the first group of women who have enrolled.

Taking a career breaks/sabbatical (or what I call a Liberty Leaveā„¢) completely changed my life in ways that I never could have imagined. When I took my first one in 2019, I came back refreshed, with a clear mind, and a newfound level of confidence in myself. I felt brave and determined enough to apply for a job that paid me $50,000 more than the one I left behind, and I successfully got it!

If you’re interested in taking a Liberty Leave but have no idea where to start with the planning process, this program is for you. You’ll get live sessions every week for 6 weeks (with access to the recordings for 6 months), and access to a small, private community of women on the same journey. We cover everything from mindset, to financial prep, to planning the break itself, to reintegration into the workforce when you’re ready. Full details are here.

Special offer for Liberty Letter subscribers: Get 40% off your spot into The Liberty Launchpad & Lounge until 11:59PM ET on Friday, October 10th at 11:59 ET using the promo code LIBERTYLETTER40. Only 2 spots left.

Embarrassment is the cost of entry šŸ™ƒ

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about ā€œopticsā€ and how much weight we place on others’ perceptions of us.

When I share details of my current lifestyle (country-hopping and not really ā€œlivingā€ anywhere right now), or the fact that I’m a content creator who is building a solopreneur business on the internet, people often ask if why I left behind traditional success in corporate to pursue an atypical lifestyle.

They often share that they wouldn’t have the guts to try something new because people would judge them and they’d feel insecure about it, or the learning curve to start would be too intense so they’d avoid it all together.

Honestly? It often feels like they’re projecting their limiting beliefs on me. Not in a malicious way, though. More so because they can’t see theirselves in my choices or my use of free will.

Here’s the truth, friend: If you’re not willing to suck at something in the beginning or have a slow start, there’s a good chance you wont get the opportunity to flourish.

There are so many different areas of life this can be applied to: Afraid to be seen learning to use new equipment at the gym? You may never reach your fitness goals or you risk plateauing because you choose to stay in your comfort zone on machines you already know how to use.

Wanna become a content creator but you’re afraid your friends and family will see you posting? Or you’re afraid your content may not get a lot of views in the beginning? You risk not growing and fulfilling your dream because you’re not posting enough and/or you’re too concerned with the opinions of others.

Scared to ask questions or speak up in a meeting at work because you’re afraid you’ll say the wrong thing? You might risk never getting answers you need to do your job well, or no one knowing who you are because you just show up to said meetings as a fly on the wall.

See where I’m going with this? You have to be OK with potentially sucking at things in the beginning in order to grow and to reach your goals. It might be an embarrassing experience, but it’ll be worth it. I think about this tweet often when it comes to this topic:

The moral is, you can’t be afraid to be seen trying if you want to level up in any area of your life. We all start somewhere, and the fact that you’re willing to start in the first place puts you ahead of the majority of people who are afraid to take the first step…

Because of optics.

  • I’m often asked for Budgeting app recos since Mint shut down last year and left people scrambling. Here’s an awesome list! Lunch Money is a fave in Canada.

  • This 32 year old is already a millionaire (!!!) and one of her top money-saving tips is to negotiate your bills. Here’s how she does it.

  • Brides-to-be are getting a bad name among the business community because they’re begging for free stuff. Details here.

  • Wealthsimple had a data security incident in August that impacted less than 1% of customers. Read their news release about it here.

  • A new study released showed that nearly HALF of Millennials and Gen Zs are relying on ~vibes~ and instinct rather than data to make their investment decisions. Yikes. Read more about the study here.

  • šŸ—£ļø Please help to spread the word! If any woman you know desperately needs a career break/sabbatical but doesn’t know where to start with planning it, please forward them this email or share this page to my signature program: The Liberty Launchpad & Lounge. We officially start on October 21st, and I only have 2 spots left. Use the code LIBERTYLETTER40 for 40% off until Friday, October 10th at 11:59 ET.

  • šŸ“Š My best-selling budget tracker is currently on sale for $19.99. I use it to track EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR I spend. Grab it here.

  • šŸŽ™ļø I was featured on on CBC’s ā€œNow or Neverā€ podcast talking about my experience with debt and burnout. Listen to it here, or check out all of my media features here.

These may include affiliate links where I earn a small commission (and you pay nothing!), which helps me to continue to grow and produce content like this newsletter. Thanks for your support!

That concludes another Liberty Letter šŸ’Œ, friend! I really appreciate you reading until the end. I don’t use AI for these, so they’re written the old fashioned way! šŸ˜…

As always, if anything resonated with you, feel free to hit ā€œreplyā€ and let me know. I love reading your responses.

I’ll slide in your inbox same time next month!
